…that when wanting to use USB cable to run the Z8, you must use the EN EL15 C version of the battery in the camera even though you are not using the battery itself. Doh. Wasted a couple of hours trying to get the setup working as I thought it was the cable/charger combination until I dawned on me that I had been using an older spare battery.
Though, I now have a nice ‘right angle’ angle plug on a 2m cable which has a much less sticky out profile when powering the camera. Small win

Don't get me wrong, but it pays to read the manual even for some basic stuff, your experience is exactly why I do it, sometimes we just forget the most basic concepts which are clearly stated in said manuals.
