WHERE WERE YOU SAINTS WHEN BH POSTED THE WAY WRONG LOW PRICE FOR THE 400D SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT?

RIGHT YOU WERE ALL BREAKING YOUR FINGERS TRYING TO GET ONE BEFORE THEY REALIZED THE MISTAKE!

And a lot of people got them.

I didn't hear from all the rightous people about sending them back or paying them correct price difference which was hundreds of $$ more!

after all the years of great service and prices BH should be able to keep our canon rebates.

they really have earned it!

I really dont care about the 1 time there was a price mistake and a few people were able to get a good deal on a camera...

When you check prices on Wednesday and the price of a Canon 100-400 lens is $1410 and then there is a rebate starting on Thursday and the price is $1410 after instant rebate , something deceptive is going on. So you ask them, "how come the price is the same?" BH response "Pricing....."

So BH are you trying to tell us Canon raised the prices the same time they have an instant rebate? and of course you just happened to stock your place with lenses at the same time? I think not....
 
So how many times you catch him doing this?

You're a bit premature. The B&H response is readily available at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1029&message=23263437 and has been discussed and dissected and reviewed and reviled at length, hasn't it?

...why some people here defend big corporations. One cannot criticize Canon or (for instance) B&H without someone jumping in their defense. I think all the big companies are intrinsically bad (including the one, I have been working for).

Quit. If you are working for a "bad" corporation, why would you stay there?

If all of these bad corporations go away, where will you work, get food, shelter, clothing, cameras, computers, and other items you use every day?
 
I have been in this (I would like to say my) company since the 80s (in Europe). It became "bad" recently in North America.

I for one new the 400 pricing was a mistake and emailed them to question the price. So I did not try to take advantage. I also crticized the b&h fiasco yesterday and still believe they tried to sneak one by. I also bought a lens from them yesterday after the correcdtion was made, We all agree that b&h made a mistake, the disagreement is with what the mistake actually was. So don't assume that just because we critisize your place of worship... B&H, that we are dishonest. And the last thing is,

DON'T YELL AT ME, I CAN READ IN monotone.

Thank you BH Photo, I knew this would get resolved. I think this little discount is just what I needed to help me buy that 70-200 telephoto I've been dreaming about. :-)
 
when the price was higher? NOoo, and if you did you don't think they will refund the difference.. YUP.... Number of people this actually effect.. 0.. Get over it.

You are right please pardon my caps.

I think you acted admirably, if you don't mind me saying!

But, I have never had the pleasure of 'communing' at B&H.
I use Amazon because of my foreign cc.

I have to admit though that I have been a little jealous of those that did, since I have been reading here for years what a great professional place it was, with wonderful service and what a good guy Henry was.

Hey when did Canon-San showed up here to appologize for using us as his quality control like on the 400d-ux or S3 mushy switch or how about apologizing for that unprogramable 'print share button' !

Their rebates are their pennance..

It would have to be pretty bad for us to give up those Canon CMOS. sensors.

I was just trying to add a little balance to the feeding frenzy.

Ummm...well if B&H can make a profit selling a lens for $1000 then I don't think they're going to go bankrupt selling the same lens for $900 and then getting the rebate from canon of $100. See.... 100+900 stil = 1000 (which is still profitable or they wouldn't be in business) So I don't really see the point of your arguement. Raising prices because of impending sales or rebates is FLAT WRONG. There is no getting around that. I'm not trying to single out B&H, cuz I use them frequently and have never had a problem with them. I'm saying it's a problem for all retailers. It's kind of like going to a used car lot to find the price on a car went up $3000 due to a "minimum trade in of $3000" . Then the salesman tells you there's no room to move on the price since they're giving you more of a trade in that what your car is actually worth.....so you're getting a real "deal". Right...
