I have looked and looked but it seems all the info is for the older version of the firmware. I am wanting to create different folders on the card I have in slot 1 which is specifically for video, but I want to create different folders for different subject matter on that card. I keep finding references to go to

"Setup" > "Select REC Folder" and choose the desired folder on your memory card

"Shooting" > "File" doesn't have it either.

But the "Select REC Folder" never shows up in my menu system. What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks,
Houston

What Sony camera model are you asking about? I'll just guess you're asking about the ZV-E1.

Sony uses two completely different systems for storing still image files (DCIM folder) and storing video files (PRIVATE folder) on the memory card. I've heard some other camera brands store everything in the DCIM folder.

There is some flexibility in creating and using different folders for still images. Unfortunately, the "Select REC Folder" or "Create New Folder" options only apply to still image files.

There is no similar folder flexibility for storing video files. However, the ZV-E1 does allow the use of Title and Date in the video file name.
