Does anybody know how tripods like Oben SQL-13 and similar tripods from Sirui , Fotopro and others work? I am talking about leg lock mechanics. I bought the Oben and I like it, but I have no idea how reliable and long-lasting they are. I do not see a way to disassemble and clean the legs.

Had anybody took them apart, or read somewhere how they are made?

Per comments by Ken Rockwell, in his review of the tripod the bottom legs are "bonded" so I don't think they'll be able to be disassembled to be cleaned. On the flip side, as Rockwell mentions, since they're bonded they should be impervious to sand and gook getting into the lower leg sections.

It'as a great tripod, I agree with his review. I'm obsessed with compact gear and have owned other ultra-light and compact tripods (Peak Design and Marsace). This I the most compact and light one that I would consider a "real" tripod. That is- capable of holding my full-frame Sony with its "normal" 20-70 lens under regular conditions. It won't handle extra-long or high aperture giant lenses well, but I don't own or use those so it doesn't matter to me.
