Hello everyone,

Found another strange issue with the GFX 100S II.

My GFX file numbers and shutter actuation numbers are the same, I set it that way when I first configured the GFX. Today, after the shoot when I was about to copy the files, I decided to check with RawDigger if the numbers are matching. To my surprise, it didn't.

The shutter count went back five numbers and then started again. You can see it in the screenshots.

Any reason why this happened? No settings have been changed.

Jim, any ideas?

... After shooting GFX cameras since their birth and reading multiple shutter count threads here for 6 years, that shutter count is impossible to control and completely unreliable for any human to gain any information about actual shutter count.

Firmware updates often messes it up right? Although they said they fixed that...

I could care less about shutter count, but if I did care, I would never believe the shutter count.

I think the best thing to do is carry a little black notebook and every time you squeeze the trigger, pull it out and put a little tick mark.

Every time you get to 2,000 change notebooks and that way when you get to your 5th notebook, you know you have 10,000 shutter activations.

But one time I think I had 5,0000 shutter activations in one hour while eating lunch.

I had the camera in my shoulder bag and somehow it was on machine gun setting and I set my phone on top of it and it and it pressed on the shutter and I think it activated 5,0000 times....

I heard this funny noise that sounded like a helicopter, and it was my GFX 100S firing for the longest time...

Love this idea! Make sure its a leather bound notebook that matches the color of the Oberwerth leather half case of the camera.

A good reliability test of the mechanical shutter in any camera.

Was there a red glow coming from within the camera when you realized you have 50,000 actuations in rapid fire?
