I'm a bit interested in this Fujifilm X100VI camera but have a few questions that perhaps you guys can help out with? I'd be using it for vacation/familystuff mostly..

1) How good is 4k@60fps movierecording in terms of stabilization? Can you walk handheld with this camera and shoot movies at the same time and still make the result watchable? Tried this with the Canon PowerShot V1 with 4k@60 but that was useless with poor stabilization.

2) HEIF/H265-mode. Can you shoot with these settings in non-HDR modes? PowerShot V1 supported these formats but ONLY if you wanted to shoot in HDR-modes which I found slightly annoying. Why not benefit from better compression in 8-bit mode aswell but nope...

3) I understand there's no zoom-capabilities with this one, how much do you miss that?

4) The camera comes with a lenscap that you need to manually remove/attach after you've used the camera. This has bothered me on other cameras earlier, what do you do with the lenscap (sorry if that's the wrong term) when you're shooting? Put it in your pocket or can it be attached with a string of some sort?

Thanks alot!

I can only answer 3 and 4.

3) Personally I love the fixed lens as it removes the distraction of focal length choice. Having said that, I also own various zooms for my Fuji XT-5 so do have the option if I want it. But for my general walkabout camera, it's why I got it.

4) I use the JJC LXH-X100 and JJC LA-49X100 adapter and screw on a high quality protection filter (Hoya Pro1 Digital) and put the lens cap in the box as this protects the lens well.

Good luck with your decision.

It is a fun camera; it is my first X100 series. I cannot answer 1) or 2) as I do not take video.

Vis 3), it is a fixed 23mm lens (35mm in full frame terms). I enjoy it. I also have and use sometimes the TCL II to give a FF equivalent of 35mm, which I find useful. It is small and light and is easily screwed onto the main lens. There is also a digital zoom, which for JPEGs is useful. The RAW images are not affected. Here is a chart I made for myself :

Vis 4), the supplied lens cap is metal and like all lens caps has to be removed/reinserted. I now use a Haoge square lens cap and found on Amazon this Ulbter rubber lens cap. It works on the native Fuji lens and over the lens cap. While it is not overly secure it stays in place. That said, it is light, pocketable and cheap and there are two for £8 in the pack.

Hope that helps.
