25 years is a very long time to stick with any software platform.

Most of my career I have been listening our programmers complain about the difficulties and limitations of dealing with legacy code and having to modify it to implement new features. And bug fixes on top of bug fixes. Our lead programmer liked the analogy of metal smith work, where each blow of a hammer makes the metal more brittle, until it loses all ductility and can't be worked anymore.

Gag me with a spoon, Batman. New regime's (entirely inscrutable and seemingly utterly ham-handed) idea of presenting my existing uploaded JPG images (in my free DP Review Image Gallery) as: "Media added by Detail Man", a goofy "random dice throw" without any regard whatsoever to the (chronological upload) order of my 999 JPG images added over around 10 years time. My actual DPR Image Gallery still (simultaneously) exists - presently untouched at the old URL. If/when access (as it was before; not subject to alleged DP Review web-site domain "improvements") to my ("legacy") free DP Review Image Gallery "disappears", this long time DPR member and contributor will likely (myself) "disappear" forthwith.
