Does yours overexpose by 2/3 stop as reported in the Photozone review?

Beautiful images, BTW.

Darn nice work you did with that lens and a very nice collection of
lenses too.

How does it fare against the zeiss 50/2 IQ wise?

Thanx, havent had much time use it though. Looking forward to do some outdoor shooting with it.

Well from F/2 the ZF 50/2 it shouldnt be a contest, but i think its more about what subject you gonna use it for.

Again i havent had the lens long enough to form a strong opinion, nor compare it head to head with my other lenses.

No it does not, have checked from F/1,4 to F/16.
Interesting. Thanks for your reply. I wonder if this is the sort of thing that can happen with sample variation, or maybe it has to do with a particular camera. (Do you use a D200, which is what was tested with the lens on Photozone? Or something else?)

A bit OT, but I once bought two different copies of the Tokina 50-135 f/2.8 and they both overexposed by 2/3 stop at every stop except f/2.8, where they were both fine. So I assumed it had to do with the mecahnical coupling to the aperture control not being set properly rather than some difference in the light transmission through the lens (more transmission of certain wavelengths?). Anyway, I ended up with the Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 instead.

Anyway, I'm glad you don't have this problem with your Voigtlander. It looks like a beautiful lens, and perhaps a better deal than the Zeiss for a manual focus fast short tele prime. I wonder if anyone else has experience with this lens and whether they find that the aperture calibration and metering are accurate.

I will be loking out for that.

Hmm, that is my dilemma, I am looking for a 50ish MF prime to complete my MF trio.

28,50,85 and being relatively new to nikon it is a bit of a struggle... I think I will go give the zeiss 50/2 a test run more.

Downside is I am not able to test neither voigtlander nor the Nikkor AIS 50/1.2... oh well...
Again i havent had the lens long enough to form a strong opinion, nor

I hope you will post your opinion on the two once you have had some more time with the voigtlander.

What will be your primary usage ? Do you need f/1,4? If money is no issue i would go for the 50/2 (unless you need F/1,4)

What did you dislike about the ZF 50/1,4 ? It peforms equally if not better wide open compared to the 58/1,4. The bokeh isnt as nervous wide open either.
I hope you will post your opinion on the two once you have had some
more time with the voigtlander.
