I sold all of my Nikon, Yongnuo and Alien Bees flashes. Picked up your option B but with the X1 transmitter. No regrets and the system integrates nicely. I would get the V860II flashes for added compatibility with the AD600 TTL system.

  • YN600EX-TR x 2 speedlight
  • YN-E3-RT controller
  • GODOX AD600 strobe + YN-E3-RX receiver
Only problem is the YN-E3-RX can't power-control the AD600. You might get HSS, but no TTL.
Candidate B: ~$1000
  • Godox V860II x 2 speedlight
  • Godox XT32 controller
  • Godox AD 600 strobe
Why not use the X1? Full control and TTL over everything. OTOH. If you only need HSS and don't care about TTL, with the X1, you could go with the V850II instead, and save a little cash. And if you care more about price than battery convenience, you could also go with the manual TT600 (US$70) or the TTL TT685 (US$100). They also both have HSS with X1 triggers.
Candidate C: ~$950
  • YN685 x2 speedlight
  • YN622 TX controller
  • YN622 RX x 3 transceiver
  • Godox AD 600 strobe
You don't need the transceivers. The YN-685 has a 622 receiver built-in. You only need a single YN-E3-RX for the AD600, as with your A setup. Also, you'll have to deal with the hassle of multiple 4xAA sets.

Same problem as the -RT gear triggering, though. A YN-E3-RX only offers TTL and power control if the flash attaches to the hotshoe. The AD600 doesn't have a flash foot, so you'll have to cable the trigger, and that means sync signal only. Also, there's no option to just throw in a cheapie $70 all-manual flash if all you want is another hair light with HSS/power control.
Candidate D: do you have a better system?
If you don't need TTL and just want manual power control and HSS:
  • Godox V850II (or TT600 if you need to go cheap) x2 [$150 per or $70 per]
  • X1C-T transmitter [$45-50]
  • Godox AD600BM (Bowens mount) [$550]
Total: ~$900 or $750, depending on speedlight choice.

If you need TTL as well, then swap the V850II for V860II (+50 per); or TT600 for TT685 (+55 per).

Another vote for Option B. Same question... why not the X1 trigger?

Another vote for Option B. I have two reasons.

1) better integration.

2) in my experiences over the past six months with products from both companies, Godox was far more reliable.

You will really like the AD600 (in the USA this is sold by Adorama as tje Flashpoint XPLOR 600 TTL HSS) but get the Bowens-S mount, sold as the AD600B.

Option B of those listed because of the better integration. Can't comment on which RF controller to use.

Option D would be more expensive but Phottix is a truly professional level system that fully integrates flash and strobes. The flash is available for Canon, Nikon, and Sony and the RF controller/trigger works with all three.

Option D: $2200

2x Phottix Mitros+ TTL Transceiver Flash for Canon $800

Phottix Indra500 TTL Studio Light $1200

Phottix Odin™ II TTL Flash Trigger Transmitter ( For Canon, Nikon and Sony ) $210

Just sold off my SB600 and two SB700 units.

I have the Godox (flashpoint) V860IIn and Streaklight 360IIn (both TTL)

I just ordered a second V860nII and when funds allow I'll order a second 360.

I use the X1 (R2) transmitter and an R2 receiver with my SB900.

I also have the Yongnuo 622TX and 622 transceivers. I'm retiring the Yongnuo units.

Both V860II and AD600 got build in Wireless X system. which don't need a receiver when you use the XT32 trigger. It got full control too.

With X1 you have to buy a receiver. Am I rite?

I can only speak to the system I have.

The X1 triggers anything with a built in 2.4Ghz receiver. The older ones require seperate triggers and receivers.

Thank MADECOV, your opinion help alot.

I got the x1, ad600 and tt685x2. now waiting for them to be delivered.

Thank you all for your opinions. It helps me a lots. I decides to go with godox x1, ad600, tt685x2.

No. You are rong. :) The built-in receivers in the V860II and AD600 work with both the XT32 and the X1. The XT32, however, is not TTL-capable. It can only do remote power control and sympathy HSS. The X1C Transmitter is both TTL and HSS capable.

Unlike Yongnuo, Godox has built this as a system. The manual-with-power-control and TTL/HSS systems work together. You can add both TTL and manual-only lights into the system, and they will all trigger together, have remote power control, and HSS. But only the TTL lights will support TTL.

Most of Godox's lights come in non-TTL and TTL flavors:
  • AA-powered speedlights (manual: TT600, TTL: TT685)
  • battery-pack powered speedlights (manual: V850II, TTL: V860II)
  • battery-pack powered bare bulb flashes (manual: AD360, TTL: AD360II)
  • battery-pack powered monolight (manual: AD600M/BM, TTL: AD600/B TTL)
Some of the older manual Mark-I versions of the lights (V850, V860, AD360) do NOT come with an X1 receiver built in, and took an older 433MHz FT16 trigger. But that was an external add-on module, that you can swap for the newer 2.4 GHz XT16 triggers, and if you want HSS then you can upgrade the transmitter to the XT32. It's meant to be more of a bridging unit if you have a mix of pre-X1 Godox lights (e.g., an AD360 Mk I), and you don't need TTL (or a way in for manual-only triggering, if you use an as-yet unsupported system (e.g., Pentax, Fuji X, Four-Thirds--there is supposed to be an X32T-G "general" single-pin transmitter).

This image has been making the rounds, trying to explain Godox's triggering system. I think it started on POTN. :)

The V860II and the AD600B have built in receivers no other receiver is needed. I think the older regular AD600 is the only one that needs an external receiver. IF the unit has built in 2.4Ghz receivers then the X1 transmitter will control it.

You are actually a little confused here. It is the ad360 (version 1) that needs a receiver to work with the X system while the ad360ii has it built in. (as Kli points out)

The ad600 is new this year and comes as ad600(BM) where M = manual but with HSS and B = Bowens (as opposed to their own Universal mount) - all version have a builtin receiver.

Candidate B: ~$1000

Godox V860II x 2 speedlight

Godox XT32 controller

Godox AD 600 strobe
V860ii = I really like these speedlights with TTL/HSS and a rechargeable lithium battery (faster recycle/more pops) but they are Godox's most expensive. You could save US$100 by going with AA powered TT865.

XT32 = As you as you decide you want TTL functionality you need the X1T triggers. No receivers are required

Godox AD600 = Strictly speaking this model is also TTL and HSS while you can save US$150 by going for the AD600BM = Bowens mount/Manual but with HSS

To keep under US$1,000 I would suggest getting the manual/HSS version of the studio flash and TTL/HSS v860ii as TTL is particularly useful for speedlights.

I also strongly recommend getting the adh600b flash head extension for the AD600 (listed below)

Just picked up a couple of Flashpoint (Godex) V860II Li-on's with the r2 receivers and transmitter. Incredibly versatile and was very simple to set up and use. Not using these before, I was up and running in about an hour. Adjusting flash power was a breeze. Sold my Nikon flash system.

Except for the Streak light, I just did the same as you except I got two v860IIn's and R2's. Great system!
