Hi,
I've been searching the WEB and have written to Samsung Support about this question - all without any luck.
Does anyone know if there is a place on the WEB where I can find Samsung Camera Firmware Version History - a list of a specific camera model's firmware history from first to last that includes a description of what each update did?
I have two NX-Minis - one at 1.03 - the other at 1.04 and I see the last update was 1.10. It would be nice to know if what the update does is worth the risk of bricking the camera.
I am particularly cautious about updates - I just went through some pain with two Samsung Note 4s. Samsung's Smart Switch tool detected the need for an update - downloaded it, but failed to transfer the update to the camera - after several attempts - the transfer started and then stalled for hours at 3% - and this bricked the phone. After weeks, I have not been able to get any help from Samsung, or Verizon Support. Although Smart Switch was supposed to download the drivers it needed - it always appeared this was a driver issue as the phone was no longer a connected device on the PC after the download was complete and transfer was supposed to start.
I'd like to avoid the same pain with the the NX Minis.
I've been advised that the best way is to download the udate to the camera's micro SD card (probably a clean formatted one is best). I also read you can update directly from the camera via the camera's built in wi-fi, or via connection to a PC using i-link. Samsung is not in the camera busines - are all these three methods still available?
Thanks!
Pete
