I have a Sony A6700 and Sigma 18-50 f2.8 and Sony 70-350 f4.5-6.3 lenses.

i was looking for filters for landscape photography. The Sigma has a 55mm diameter thread and the Sony has a 67mm thread. I initially thought I’d just get 67mm filters and a 55-67 step up adapter but when I visited the Kase website, it states in the table listed here: https://kasefilters.com/kase-magnetic-circular-filters#magnetic-circular-kits that a 67mm diameter needs an 82mm filter.

Therefore I assume I need a 55mm-82mm adaptor and a 67mm-82mm adapter for my lenses. Is this correct?

Magnetic filters seem to be the in-thing so I think I’ll stick to them for ease of use.

I see Urth, Kase and K&F all do magnetic filters. How do they compare?

I watched a YouTube clip and the guy said that the only filters needed are CPL and 10 stop ND. Would it be easier to buy separate 55mm and 67mm CPL and get a magnetic ND?

Not sure about this particular magnetic system, but in general, for 67mm thread you of course need 67mm filter. And adapter to 55mm, as you mentioned.

I think that you take online sources too seriously. What I learned - if you really need it, you will find out by yourself. What do you miss on your photos?

I'd just buy a good quality polarizer (CPL) for the 18-50 mm lens.

I use a Zeiss and couldn't be happier. No image degradation, no flare, no color cast and very strong polarizing effect.

The brand you mention is an exception because it is designed to have multple filters one on top of the other.

As stated there :

Whatever your largest thread size is, go up to the next size. This will prevent vignetting when stacking on wide angle lens.

Using standard screw mount filters ,one at a time, you do not need to do that.
