empty shell casings

Well for starters your shooting .40 Smith and Wesson. If you want to have fun try .357sig or 10mm, but HK does not chamber in that caliber. Go Glock. Seriously a nice shot though maybe a little hot on the brass.

actually, the gun in the picture is a H&K USP45.......i just grabbed whatever i could from the range floor, and those were the ones I ended up with. I also have a glock 23, I will try some diff. compositions with that another day.......

Or better yet...go 1911 :)

I'm not sure why you say he would have more fun shooting .357sig or 10mm.

Why is the .40 S&W inferior to these two you mention?

The .40 isn't really inferior per se, but it was originally developed as a "short and wimpy" version of the 10mm

The FBI, in the aftermath of their 1986 Miami shootout, where their 115 gr 9mm rounds failed to stop 2 heavily armed perps immediately, upgraded their agents to 10mm S&W pistols. The 10mm round proved to be too much in recoil for some agents to shoot, so shortly after, the .40 S&W was developed to fill the niche of a round that falls between the 9mm and .45, without the kick of a 10mm.

Anyhow, back to the picture, I think live .45 hollowpoint rounds laying in the area in place of the shell casings would make one wicked picture. The other things look good enough.

--Very nice shot. Very good composition and I do not think the shell casings were too hot as prior mentioned.

Now, I think that 45ACP casings would have been a little more impressive than the .40 cal. I personally carry and shoot the Sig Sauer model 220.

Thats the .45 ACP ... I went from a Berretta 9mm to Glock 10mm, when 10mm meant something, and then back to the Sigs that I now own.

I prefer .45ACP.. It has less kick with more control and has plenty of knock down power.. The 10mm had too much penetration for me personally.

I may just have to take a pic of mine to see how it comes out with its two tone finish with Black Talon rounds.. Yup, I still have some of those left over even though they are not sold anymore.. What a round though!!

The funny thing is now a days, I shoot my camera alot more than my firearms.... Hee,hee.. Again, very nice shot.
Again, very nice shot.

I have a SIG P220 as well. One sweet gun huh? I'm usually a 1911 man, but the P220 is my favorite double action .45 by far.

I have a model 20 myself. Sweet gun. It was my main IPSC piece until I picked up a Kimber .45.

Yup, I have a box of .40's and a box of 10mm's in the evil Black Talon round. There's nothing evil about them, actually they are just so-so performers in real world shootings. They are mean looking though!

Same here...

Old Bob Thank you for the reply,I may sell my dslr and lenses as I feel I am not using it to its potential,I hike in rough terrain a lot and need something less bulky and lighter, but with good image quality.I do mostly landscapes,in high country and Im no kid anymore. The 717 would be great for this I think,Bob
