Now that the D500 is out for 4 month it would be nice to know at what rate you guys and gals tear through your shutter life @ 10 fps.

Please state you shutter count (use ExifTool or https://www.camerashuttercount.com/ or something) and tell us if you think you take more shots than with your previous, slower, camera.

Thanks

i wonder whats the shutter count for a d500 camera been used on the olympic games.

And I'm sure every one a keeper :-) ... I love your work!

Thank goodness someone is more trigger happy than I am!

What we spend on this stuff is equal to the depth of our pockets squared ($²) times (x) what we justify in our minds as to what we expect to do with our pictures plus (+) the enjoyment we experience from using our stuff and sharing the result ... $²(E(X)+ :-) )=$xxxx

shot over 700 frames in 20 min.

At 10 fps I got stuff I wouldn't have gotten at 8,

but of course Ive had to delete over 450 frames so far :-D

I received my D500 on 5/9/16 and I have a whooping 2451 images taken so far. Smokin' it!!

That's pretty close to my record for 1 day, lol

I fear 10fps, as one of the last holdouts with a D300s I finally broke down and bought a D7200 on Dec 14 th 2015. 155,483 pics later over 204 days shooting :) Its a good thing hard drives have gotten bigger and cheaper.

I received mine 29/04/16 and shutter count is at 14626. A tour of Nova Scotia and a 1440 shots 3 hour ride on Donelda's Puffin Boat Tour in Englishtown kept my shutter finger warm. Also a record number of small birds in the migration and mating period this Spring was exciting.

I haven't been out as much as I would love to in the past couple months for the lack of shorebirds and a windstorm that blew off an Osprey nest that I used to visit year after year killing both babies. They rebuilt the nest hoping to mate again but I assume it didn't work out and left after a couple weeks.

I shoot on CL 7fps most of the time and switch to CH 10fps when needed. Since the focus system is so great, it makes too many good images and harder to chose what to delete with a high keeper rate.

Sorry for the long post for a simple question, French Canadians love to talk :)

WOW, BOB! you are putting more mileage than me - I got my D500 before you did....LOL!

I have taken over 45,000 shots with my D500 and 300mm f4 PF lens. About 20,000 shots in a week in Sitka, AK shooting mostly eagles. Lots of great keepers. The 10 frames per second is great, but slower than my Sony A77m2. The D500 with the 300mm lens gave me much better quality shots. The buffer was amazing.

Just about to hit 10,000 and I got mine the day it was released, 4/21/2016. So about 20 cents a photo, and I have had the camera for only 4 months. Quite a bargain!
