Nice shot, very sharp.. is that with 100mm macro?
I have that lens, it is super sharp, just slow to focus..

At first glance, I thought you had taken a sitting bee (or whatever that is) and tried to make it look as if it were fiying. But then I saw that it was eating away at the leaf (hence the title, of course).

It's (almost) too sharp.

Nice shot, Aarif, but I agree with Mladen on it looking a bit fake - there seems to be too strong a contrast difference between the bee and the leaf, to me.

So are you saying it is a fake or it just looks like one, but I do agree it looks a bit strange the flash had over exposed it a bit maybe I needed to darken the image a bit more

Hi, Aarif. To me it's just the contrast difference that makes it look unnatural - I think darkening all of it would negatively impact the bee; maybe bring the contrast down on the bee or shift the leaf, somehow (contrast, saturation, light/shadow balance).

Hi Aarif

I have to agree with RichV, the photo has the appearance of computer generation. I don't think it is, it just looks that way. I played around with it for a minute or 2, reduced contrast and saturation help but the head still looks "altered". Regardless, it's an Amazing photo.

I'm thrilled that you came back to A-mount with an A700. I always enjoy your work.

Cheers,

Incredible as always...

Thanks for sharing this one - Hapster

How did you get the frame round your shot? Is there a feature in Picasaweb to addone?

Tom

that is a problem you sometimes run into when using flash. It works so well, that you get results that can't ever be seen with just the eye alone. Regardless, it's a very interesting image aarif! You are correct - almost too sharp. That lens is really something.
