I can connect my iPhone and my a7r5 over Bluetooth such that I can see how much capacity if left on my two card, so that’s good, but if I try Remote Shooting the app tries to establish a WiFi connection, but no mater what it gives the same error;

Could not connect to your camera.

On your smartphone, select [Settings] > [Creators' App] >[Local network].

OK

I have made sure the Local Network option (as suggested above) is enabled.

Does anyone know of a solution to this?

Oh dear... Sony's "Cr'App." It's capable of telling me that no way can it connect to my camera when it did two minutes ago <bangs head on wall>

What happens if you try the import option? Same result?

There is a simple solution to all this network difficulty: use a USB cable. But I'm using the app for downloading pics. For remote shooting, the wired solution may not be convenient. It has to be usb-C to usb-C, but other than that stipulation, it just works. Like the networking options should. And occasionally do. But often don't.

I have lots of sympathy, regret that I can offer only less actual help. Except... use a cable.

You’re not using a vpn app on your phone, are you? That tripped me up in the past (but on Android).
