We’ve been cooped up by the heat for too long, so we ventured to central Phoenix on Sunday to poke around in the Changing Hands Bookstore. This is one of two locations for this independent bookstore here. Both stores have much more than just books, and they both remind me a bit of funky shops in the San Francisco Bay Area when we lived there in 1970. These stores are definitely the most Woke places that I’ve found in Phoenix. It was crowded for lots of young people (20-ish) and we only managed about 40 minutes there. I took many photos with a J5 and 10-30 PD. Here are nine of them; I’ll put the rest in a second post.

I would hav enjoyed one of these in my bike riding days so many decades ago.

Carol’s niece on the other side of the country is into bees so I suspect Carol will want to return to the store and buy this.

This took me by surprise. Although I knew that Jackie worked as a photographer at one time I don’t think I’ve ever seen her with a camera.

An interesting name for these flavored lip balms.

A nice display.

Coffee mug, or small planter?

The community bulletin board.

Another bumblebee themed item for a future gift.

You can see a lot just by looking.
And you can learn a lot by reading the manual.
