I have seen my photographic skills progress and there seems to be certain images that have marked turning points in the way I look at things. Here are my favorites. They may not be contest winners, but they changed the way I approach photography. Let's see your personal favorites!!

Well, limiting myself to one, here it is. This flower magically appeared in my garden this last summer. I thought it was a gonner before it even bloomed when I found it bent over at the base with the stem creased. I picked it up and leaned it against a bush and it decided to bloom anyway. Both the flower and this picture blew me away. I've been hooked ever since.

Nice Challenge. Everyone on this forum has been great. Digital photography for me is just a hobby, but I want to be as good as possible at it. Thats why this forum is so valuable. We not only learn from each other, but we can share are success's and failure's. It's like one big happy family. Here are a few of my favorite's.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Joe

The city picture is great. Did you use a filter to get the lights to "star" like that? Who are you giving the finger to in that 3rd pic? :}

What a great family!

Mike,

I'm glad to see you included my favorite of the ones I've seen you post, the fire sunset. By the way, is that last one a boat full of people all slickered up heading for Niagra Falls?

Rosebuds

Bee in Sunflower

I took these two photos, handheld, in our backyard on the second
day I had my Nikon 990. They're two of my favorites, because I
remember the thrill when I opened them in Photoshop and saw
all that detail. They're much reduced in size here.

I'm still hooked on macros. :-)

Judy,

I love your work, so it's special nice to see your first few inspirations!

OOOOOHHHHHH, all of your favorites are simply...well....gorgeous! Clever, creative, beauty depicted in perfect light, ....I tried, but could NOT settle on one. If I really, really had to, it would be this first one....but i love my hummers, and zoo....and flowers....the camera opened up the world...
Thanks for indulging, and sharing.

Gorgeous, luminous photo, Ron. You can almost see the individual

cells and pollen grains. The delicate colors in the petals and strong colors in the stamens and pistil are just exquisite.

Ok this one of my favorites. It's a picture of my friend Marvin just after he'd woken up and before he's had a chance to get his java, taken with his own Nikon 950 (before I bought my Nikon 880). I even made a t-shirt out this one ;-)
