Hi. For years I've been using dslrs and mirrorless cameras. Still using D300 thought it often is left at home because of size and weight.

Couple weeks ago I found my old Casio EX-Z70 in a drawer and started using it again when going for a walk. It's a great small p&s! I probably forgot that having small camera with good controls in a pocket is much better than I remember it to be.

EX-z70 has a serious drawback though - it's screen is old and barely visible in daylight. I looked at Casio website, and there's a massive amount of newer compact cameras, not sure what to choose.

Here's what I'm looking for:

- should fit into a larger pocket

- good quality screen, visible in daylight. Tiltable would be even better but not a must

- sharp lens. Though even my z70 is sharp enough

- fast response (lots of times I prefocus, so even current z70 was not an issue). But speed is important.

- 28mm on the wide end would be good enough

- easy controls of the exposure. Z70 let's you control exposure compensation using main control arrows and it's very convenient. I use the camera on auto, basically as I'd use Aperture priority on dslr, just with underexposure or overexposure when needed.

- it should be possible to find it in ebay or similar markets for $200 or less

-

What I don't care about:

- extremely long zoom. Even 75mm would be enough

- raw support is not required

- any automatizations like smile detection and similar. Not interested.

- ccd or cmos, does not matter as long as jpg looks fine

- lots of megapixels. 12 should be enough, even 10 if lens or sensor is good

- video capabilities. Not interested.

-

Any compact Casio recommendations to "upgrade" my Z70?

Thanks!

P.S. saw that lots of cameras have back-illuminated sensor. What are it's advantages/drawbacks compared to regular sensors in point and shoots?
