I use Photoshop Elements 2024, just installed/upgraded actually from a much older version, and downloaded and installed the latest RAW file processor, but it doesn't work, as it will not open a A7CR file. Any can help here?

Thanks in advance!

I upgraded to PSE 2024 for a different reason. I recently purchased PSE 2024 and installed the Camera Raw plug-in. I see what we have is Camera Raw v15.5 (Open Photo Editor > Help > About Plug-in > Camera Raw).

I can't open a DPR A7CR sample RAW file either.

From the Camera Raw website, I see the A7CR is only supported on Camera Raw v16 or later.

I'm told PSE doesn't routinely get Camera Raw updates, maybe we'll get lucky. There is a workaround that I tried once with some success.

Otherwise, you can use Sony's Imaging Edge Desktop software or Adobe's DNG Converter (v16 or later) to work with A7CR RAW files.

Thanks! Looking at the links now....

If all else fails you could use the DNG converter as a stop gap measure, so you can open them in PSE.

Always keep your originals though.

Have you checked for any subsequent Adobe updates?

They are released about every week or two with my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.

Try "Help" -> "updates" in the menu.

I have just checked with a RAW sample from the a7cr dpreview review, XnView mp can open and convert the file (but not to DNG) while Topaz Photo AI (2.1.5) will also open the file and can convert it to DNG if needed.

Thanks everyone!

It's not an acute issue, as I don't have the A7CR yet, but am planning to buy this one or the A7C-II.
