either way wishing all the Dad's a Happy Father's Day! Spent the day with my Dad in Hyannis. Captured a few "candads" of my Dad! I don't think it will take long to figure out his trademark! A reporter in his younger years..then editor..and still writing a column each week for the Cape Cod Times...his trademark brows were seen at the beginning of each Column.

An excellent writer, Dad has won many awards for his stories and,his unique way of capturing the readers interest! Funny, witty and kind, and I'm pretty proud of him!

Pickin & grinnin is what life was all about when Dad needed a little down time from a busy schedule. I took a shot of his cherished old banjo a couple of months ago..(some may remember) and had it done on Canvas. I gave it to him today..he loved it!

Any day with Dad is always a memorable one! Sharing my Dad with you all..and Wishing all the Dads here in the forum a very Happyy Father's Day!..

Lots of hard work, love, and ...well...headlines & storylines etched into this wonderful face!

Oh..and he loves the stuff..especially "Rum Raisin"

Always very tan..living on the Cape..Wasn't sure I liked this better in BW or color..whadya think?

And the shot that made is day..I was glad!

great shots Robin Lee, his character and life's experience show very well. I like both the colour and b&w. These tell a story alright :)

Thanks for the father's day wishes, here in Israel we don't celebrate it, maybe because we fathers are taken for granted :) my children say every day is father's day so no celebration needed :)

One thing that makes me wonder: your father looks great and not old at all, you are celebrating your 50th anniversary, were you married at the age of ten ?:). may you enjoy being with your dad for many more happy years

Robin-Lee,
I think your Dad will like these wonderful candids, as we all like them.

Thank you very much for the wishes. I don't know exactly when you have the Father's Day in USA. Here in Italy it is on March 19th.

Hi Robin - Lee, thank you for Father Day's Greetings. Please wish your dad a Happy Father's Day and tell him he is very blessed to have a daughter like you who is so caring not only to your dad but friends at this forum too.

Thanks for sharing the very well taken set of your dad's pics. My favorite is the second last one of your dad. Normally I go for the eyes but you have done some thing even better. You have chosen to capture those prominent features of the eye brows and moustache, which in this case is better than the eyes. Also you captured the skin tone and details so well and giving this pic a very strong character but composed personality of your dad.

cheers

These are wonderful shots of your Father Robin-Lee. Here in England he is exactly what I've always pictured as the fearless American journalist/newspaperman. Straight out of Mark Twain.

Give him my regards, he has a fine daughter.

If I was you, I would print and frame the first one and give it to him as a present.

What lovely pictures...and thoughts.
All good things to you both.

Wow what a great series and what a wonderful post. The thought that popped into my head when I saw the first image was "Mark Twain" , and then I find out he is a writer and a story teller . . .

I loved all the pictures and while I really like the B&W's I think the color one is gorgeous too.

Thank you for doing this post. Have to admit it brought a tear to my eye but then a flood of great memories of times and places with my Dad. He used to write poetry (for the fun of it . . . little ditties really) and one of his hobbies was caligraphy and so he copied all his poems into caligraphy. Last year for my Mom's 90th we had them copied and bound into a book for my Mom's 90th birthday. I will spend some time reading some of his poems today!

Again thanks!

Glaad you liked them Dov..pretty tough to get a good candid of one who takes excellent story telling candids for his profession!

Thanks Dov.. it will be the milestone birthday. Dad in the later part of his 70's, but in great shape! There is longevity in Dad's family...if I've been lucky enough to inherit this good fortune..then a half century milestone isn't so bad! :O)
