C700, comments and questions..

Hi everyone

I absolutely love this camera and my favourite mode is 1600x1200 HQ jpg.

The zoom is awesome and doesnt even require a tripod. Chromatic abberation is 99% non-existent and only shows (if you look for it) with poorly thought out shots
I'm also impressed with the movie quality.
This camera has made me appreciate nature like never before.

Now to the questions.
1. Does anyone know of a program I can download that will convert
the MOV movies (and sound) to MPG?

I have downloaded RadVideo to convert to AVI and Total Recorder for the sound. I'd like to create a VCD.

2. Will there be firmware available to allow mpeg2 compression and longer movie recording? 15 secs isnt too bad though.
3. Just out of curiousity, has anyone attached their C700 to a telescope?
eg. 8" SCT? If so, how did you set it up to take photos?

I have used tmpgenc.net for other purposes (converting home movies from my digital camcorder) and it is fantastic.

Yes, but it works lovely to convert MOV to MPEG, too.
