C-40 Zoom questions before I buy

I am looking at buying the C-40, however I would appreciate some feedback from current owners of this camera.

Is the 'picture taking mechanism' noisy??

What I mean by this is when you press the shutter release, are there any beeps or mechanical noises or lights flicking while the camera takes the picture.

If there are beeps/lights/leds, can you configure the camera to turn them off??

Also, how long does the lithium battery last?
How long do normal AA batteries last - eg duracell??

Any help would be appreicated.

I don't have that model, but the other OLYs allow you to turn off the beep.

The C40 has several shutter noise options, if you want you can have none, the choice of 2 simulated shutter noises (from their OM2 and 4 film cameras) which sound pretty cr@p to be honest, plus the beeps when you press any buttons (during menu use etc) can be adjusted for volume (off to loudish) and finally the 'welcome' and 'goodbye' noise when you turn the camera on and off.

Battery life- can't tell you it lasts for precisely xxx pictures but I am happy with the life from my 1200,1300 and 1500maH batteries. Usual battery consumption economy drives apply such as turning the continual focus off and turn LCD off when not needed.

I use lithium battery for about 50 foto with flash and monitor. Now I use accum. GP 1800 and I can make about 20-25 foto with the same condition.
IMHO in lithium battary flash charge faster than accum.
