I recently bought a used D200 and wanted to experiment the CCD colors. Here are some sample images, please share your recent images from D200.

I skipped over the D200 going from 100 to 300 then 500.

When the 200 came out it had some problems so I was glad I didn't get one right away.

Later on the 300 came out and I loved it,, ended up with 2 of them, gave one to my some the other is still my back up.

Seeing what a 200 colors are makes me think it would be fun to own one now.

Thanks for showing your photos

Mike

I also skipped the D200 and went for the D300 which I used as my main camera for about 10 years and still use it occasionally - but now use mainly a D750.

I actually find the colours shown in these images too garish, especially the reds. The images look, to my eye and on my colour-calibrated monitor, a little underexposed (sorry Vadiv).

Hi Mike and David,

Thanks for the comments. I bought D200 only recently after reading some article and seeing some youtube reviews. Most of those folks said the CCD sensor on these cameras produce film like colors. I may need to tweak a bit to get real colors. It is only 10MP so it produces optimum size RAW files for me to process with my existing computers.

I believe the color adjustment can be done to suit our taste.

Thnaks,

Oh yes, absolutely - I often write à chacun son goût - it's all very subjective and I am something of a minimalist. My remarks were meant as an observation, not a criticism. Back in the day when the D200 was top of the range there was a guy here in DPR who used one to do humming birds against a black or very dark background - they were stunning images.
