Discovered about a month ago that an old Olympus pocket camera LI-50B battery fit just fine in my GR IIIx. Same height and length. Oh joy! Oh Yankee ingenuity! Oh thrifty cost savings!

Oh well. Because every now and then, the GR just went dead. Found that the battery had just come loose, and worried that the GR's battery latch was faulty. But no... because yesterday, on closer inspection, I noticed that the Olympus battery width was smaller than the Ricoh DB-110. Not by much... maybe only 1 or 2 o' them millymeters y'all use over in Yurp. But definitely thinner. So added a bit of tape to the Olympus battery... makes it thicker enough to get by... but will order another DB-110 from Amazon.
Moral of the story? To not get ahead of myself, just to save a few dollars. And to trust and stay with that Ricoh brand, it ain't Olympus. True that!

You can see the thickness difference here...

The OM syst LI-92B is exaktly the same as DB-110
Yes, and 3rd party clones are usually labelled as LI-92B replacements not DB-110, if you want to go that route (I have both Ricoh DB-110 and 3rd party LI-92B batteries).
