I have ordered from B & H online and been very happy. I might visit their NYC store. Is it in a "good" neighborhood? Can I get back from the store to their parking lot without getting mugged?

--I've been to NY a mess of times (my favorite place in the world!),
and only drove in once. In my opinion, it's not worth driving, you
can spend hours in traffic. Take a train in and use public transit
or walk to where you want to go. I've taken Amtrak in all but that
one time and it's just more pleasant. If I remeber correctly (and
I could be wrong) B&H isn't too far from Grand Central.
You'll love the palce it's a like a candy store for camera nuts.

put a horrible image out to the world of this grand city.
i grew up in shadier areas in the city but like any other place in
the world, if you are smart about your surroundings, you will do
just fine.
--I really don't know how being "smart" about your surroundings will
help much. I live outside Atlanta (never go downtown anymore) and
recently retired, a 28 year career as a Federal Agent working out
of the Atlanta Federal Center, so I have first hand experience.
Haven't you ever read any of the crime stats? (Atlanta and NYC are
really close and right up there in the top 10)
"Smart" has nothing to do with it. Luck maybe......
