Anyone up for a REAL challenge?

Even with a high-speed cable connection (10mbps) I had to wait almost a minute before the progress bar showed any progress loading the page. Then I got a pop-up message regarding MIME types & Quicktime. Closed that out, and a very small image (maybe 1 inch by 2 inches) appeared on screen. Can you post just a normal photo link?

I had the same problems so I just right-clicked the link and told it to download instead. That worked fine. Turns out this is a Nikon RAW file so Explorer doesn't seem to know how to display it.

That small pic seems to be the embedded jpg(?) in the Nikon raw NEF file. When I saw that (using Irfanview) I told it to edit that file in Photoshop and PSCS2/ACR opened up correctly.
Can you post just a normal photo link?
Since this is a badly underexposed file, the RAW version offers the only hope for recovery, I think.

This is beyond my ability but here's my first try at it. I'll probably give another go at it when I think it through a bit.

Hi,

Here's my go. A lot of noise is in the underexposure - which makes the OOF foreground worse when a noise filter is used. So I tried to blur the in-focus background to give the foreground an impression of in-focus. I did also attempt a noise filter on the foreground without trying to be too heavy with it. But this is a difficult one.

Zorpie

If it seems too good to be true - then it isn't. If you cannot believe your eyes - then don't.

Hi Gayle,

I've no idea.....I've only just downloaded a trial version of Lightzone and am just playing....I'm trying to learn how to do post processing, so am just messing about at the moment, but having great fun.

Every blessing,

Mike

3 attempts:
with a distracting frame

natural color?

toned and added distortion for more fun (since the center is so out of focus anyhow):

After studying the other suggestions , I have to admit that blurring the backgound would certainly help a lot - even with such a blurry foreground.

... and the "usual" - might work here?. Perhaps one could desaturate bride and groom a little , too.

i think zorpie did the best job of getting rid of the noise,

the selective coloring and blurring of the background also made the out of focus foreground stand out alot more
i will try to implement all of these techniques into one
if anyone has a full res jpeg of their work please email me at
[email protected]
thanks so much for the help

The usual again, but perhaps a little bit more interesting.

I thought it might be neat to experiment a little bit more with the saturation. I do not know if it "works", though.
