Anyone have external microphone issue with OM5?

I've tried 3 different male to male cables and all behave the same with my new OM5 camera. I need to pull out the connector slightly from the camera for it to work. Any slight wiggle and it doesn't work - needs to be perfect depth.

Microphone is new, so wasn't sure if mic or camera was at fault, but now that I found two other cables to try, apparently the camera is the problem....argh. I really don't want to be w/o it for weeks on end (NYS fair is 2 weeks away). Pretty sure I bought camera over 30 days ago.

All 3 cables lack headphone connection (TRS not TRRS).

I plan to try the mic and the included TRRS cable with my phone.

If your mic came with a TRRS cable, maybe you should be using one of these:

For more/better suggestions, you may want to mention the microphone type and your microphone and recording related camera settings.

I tried both types of cables that were included with the microphone and they both acted the same. It only works if the cable is pulled out of the camera slightly. I tried two other stereo audio cables (that I use elsewhere and work fine) and they act of the same way.

So I'm wondering if other owners have the same problem. or have successfully used a microphone, or most likely haven't tried.

I should try the phone type cable (has the headphone signal) with my phone to be sure the mix works.
