This is an example of good photography. The crispness comes from proper focusing and shooting at a proper shutter speed handheld so there is no motion blur.
The vividness comes from good lighting, attention to backgrounds, and proper post production (white balance, color saturation, contrast).
There are many small skill sets that go into producing this kind of work. As in all photography.
You must devote time to each aspect of photography until all the elements come together at the time of a shoot.
As for your comment about feeling bad when you see this kind of work...
after 10+ years of professional photography experience, I feel that way too when I see good work. But it doesn't put me off, it encourages me to continue learning and growing.
One of the things about photography that I love is that regardless of how good I get, there is always room to grow.
Don't get discouraged, get busy.
Choose an area of weakness in your work and make a concious effort to improve in that area.
