I’ld like to buy a nikon 70-200 lens. Have been looking on the net to find a good spot to buy. A friend of mine lives in Atlanta, does anybody know a good shop there that’s reasonabely priced??

And whats a grey market model, why is it cheaper. Do rebates work on grey market models as well??

Thanks

I bought mine last week on ebay from CanogaCamera. Paid $1502.00 with $150.00 rebate on a 5 year USA warranty, final cost is $1352, here is a link of their auction:

Thanks for fast reply. Looking at your link, and at their website. Website tells this item is out of stock? I'm confused, not being used to e-bay. Does that mean if you win the bidding, the item is stillout of stock?

I choosed Sigma 70-200 2.8 instead of Nikon one and like my choise so long so far. HSM is fast, lens is a bit smaller than Nikkor plus cost was $500 instead of $1500 for 70-200vr.

There's no where around Atlanta that has a "good" price on the 70-200 vr. Wolf Camera (here in Atlanta) has it for $1,999 before the rebate.

If price is an issue, I'd go with BHPHOTO (www.bhphoto.com). Many people on this forum use them and they give great service.

As for the Sigma vs. the Nikon. I would agree with the other poster IF PRICE IS AN ISSUE. But, the Nikon focuses MUCH faster and the images are sharper IMHO.

Good Answer Amateur, you get what you paid for. BH Photo is a great place and you'll save on sale tax.
Good Luck!
