Are there any good p&s reasonably priced cameras that have a high quality image? I have been "sold on this type of lense by reading from this site and now I trying to find something. I have seen some but it looks like the reviews when it comes to image quality seem to be lacking. I wouldn't mind adding a decent and IS, but ... wanting to stay below $500. Maybe there is something out there a little older or discontinued, but still of exellent image quality. Thanks for any help

Hi, if you want only 28mm, check the Ricoh GR-Digital ( http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Ricoh/ricoh_grdigital.asp ), which seems to be a very solid camera (according to reviews and user comments on these forums; I don't have personal experience with it), however it seems to suffer a bit from higher noise. Cheeper alternative is any of the Ricoh Caplio RXX series, the latest one R5 looks the best to me ( http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Ricoh/ricoh_caplior5.asp ). Other alternative is Kodak P880, which starts at 24mm, which has excellent lens and image qualiity, but is a bit larger as compareg to Ricoh GRD or R5 (but still smaller as compared to DSLR cams).

Regards, Martin

I have the Nikon 8400, which sports a very nice 24mm FOV lens. The lens is just as sharp as my DSLR lenses. I now use it underwater.

If I have uploaded an image feel free to process it further (correct the WB, clone out dust and dead pixels, saturation, USM ....) and send me the result.
