After six weeks with my D30 (wonderful), I have had it with Zoom Browser (awful). It's hard to believe that such a great camera is sold with such a terrible package!

I am looking for opinions regarding alternatives. After searching prior threads, ACDsee seems to be the most popular package. But I went to ACD's website - ACDsee 3.1 appears to be the package needed, but I am not sure of this; and the description of the package did not mention RAW files.

Is ACDsee the best package? Is 3.1 the needed software, and can it acquire and make thumbnails of raw files?

Thanks for any help the forum can provide.

David, you might want to try BreezeBrowser. It's gotten a lot of good reviews and recommendations from the forum members. The website is: http://www.breezesys.com/BreezeBrowser/

I use it and I love it!

David,

I just got the BreezeBrowser and it works great. Try it and you won't be disappointed. This is all I am using now for browsing/viewing and RAW file conversion to 16 bit TIF files.

David,

I quadruple, quintuple, etc, etc, etc....Dito that one. It is really a great program, and very easy to install and use. And the price is very very reasonable. Once you are registered, all future updates are freeeeeeee!!! It doesn't get any better than that.

The only thing I use Zoom Browser for now is to change my parameters.

Go ahead and download today.

Peace,

Chris.

I have both PC's and Mac's and use both. The PC's most of the time but when I really get serious about an image I use the Mac. As of yet not made use of the Raw feature much. Storage size, the extra work, etc. But I'm looking and Upgrading my storage medium from 20GB plus cdr's to a NT4 server with 128GB Raid plus cdr's.

Mac users, please comment about browsers and Raw files.
