Hi Peter,

Nice shots, very well seen. My favorites are the divide, siamese, window, no vending and travel head ;)

Oh, and I liked the shadow self-portrait. There's an ominous face next you, did you notice? :)

Looks like you had a very productive trip...are there more to come?

The divide is an interesting pic, with what seems like carefully placed walking groups on the 'scape. I like this one. Reminds me of a scene from an old sci-fi movie where perfectly dressed suburban women are greeting each other in the grocery store as they walk about the isles. Don't ask me why I'm reminded of that. Just plain don't!

The Road Less Travelled is cool, but I like My Sidekick. Good colours.... nice image...

Thanks,

my next trip i think is scheduled for tomorrow. im either heading north towards sun valley, idaho and montana or southwest towards telluride and back to arizona. i think north. more photos from this trip to come.

salut pierre,

it reminds me a lot of some of the landscapes you did. so i am honored you enjoy it. that place is so swarming with bad tourists i couldnt help but laugh. i kept laughing when i was taking those, so im suprised the composition was as good as it is.
  • peter
Hi Peter,

I loved the composition.

I must say that IMHO it is one of your best.

À bientôt

hi carol,

ive never had someone cuss after looking at my photos. it means a lot to me that you were compelled to such extremes. frightening! i remember this english girl i met in romania kept saying everything was "shocking". and "mind-blowing". and "frightening". she was all of the above to me.
thank you for your words. far too kind.

hey shoob,

my sidekick is one of my favorites.. it was more for the background than the car.. but the car is what made the image.

i wont ask you about the women walking in the aisles because well... i know what you're talking about. its the opposite in surrealism, but its similar somehow.
here is another of the sidekick

Hi, Peter.

I might be particularly biased w/ these, but I do like them quite a bit. There's something compelling about the 1st one that I can't really describe beyond the drama and tension of it all -- feels like a scene from some strange supernatural/sci-fi show like a modern day Twilight Zone. And it does have an Adam-esque visual to it. Offhand, I'd say that's the best of the ones posted.

Some of the rest remind me of my own short term mission trip out to AZ 10 years ago. Makes me wonder if you got lost there and took a break to get some of these shots. ;-) Did I ever tell you about our little adventure going out there? :-) I showed up late to the airport, missed the flight and had to find my way to the mission site inside Navajo land, which is some 6-hour(?) drive from Phoenix -- and I can't drive. :-) Well, I got to fly 1st class as a result w/ a short lay-over at Vegas -- didn't play the slots, if you're wondering :-) -- and then had my own personal tour guide the next morning going into the reservation. Meanwhile, the team got lost for 3 hours in the late evening -- and was so stocked w/ supplies they bought in Phoenix that it would've been a very uncomfy ride if I did make it w/ them. Since I had my own guide/escort (for the 4-hour ride), I was able to learn much more about the place, the people and their culture, which was quite helpful for the rest of the trip as well as for my own edification. Of course, I never heard the end of it from the team members. :-) Divine providence for ya. ;-)

Having checked out the gallery yet. Will do that later...

yo man (i always wanted to say that.. its the child in me),

i like them a lot, too. but they're mine, so i am definately biased. offhand? well, its not offhand anymore.

ill tell you a secret. you cant get lost if you dont have a destination. im a wanderer. i had two destinations along the way, aspen and moab.

i like your story, though. i almost got involved in something similar.. with the community, i mean. im far too reserved for anything like that though. you flew 1st class, too. thats one thing ive yet to do... fly 1st class. im not really sure why i said that. oh well. =)
thanks for looking.

I think these are quite good, and they do have a "Peter touch". I like the first one the most. I'm not sure I understand the ansel reference, but then I've never really studied his work. But that paticular image has a very dynamic feeling to it. The high contrast makes the sky really pop and the the lines of the tree bowls provide a very nice, natural patter. Very pleasing!
