After trying out my S75.. it isnt all that bad.. although, Canon has better features. I'm so afraid of reutning my S75 and receiving a g1 that has all the problems everyone has been moaning about. And if you don't think that bad enough. I've had bad luck with electronics all my life. Everything I buy has at least one stupid defect. and considering the number of copmlaints rather than praises.. I'm frankly to scared to buy the G1. Guess I'll stick with my lovly looking S75.

In photography there are two golden rules that I've found have NEVER let me down. A camera has got to 'feel' right from the start , then it's got to give you both ease of use and satisfactory (to you) results. After that it's everybody's opinion against yours - and it's YOURS that matters. If you really feel happy with the S75 don't for Heavens sake buy another just because somebody else says it is better. I happen to thin it IS better but that's just how I use it and feel abouit it. Your S75 probably gives you just the same satisfaction so just don't rush into something without VERY good reason.

g1 is defenitely not a perfect camera... and it also seems that g1 owners seem to ***** more than those of other brands about issues that shouldn't really matter... some people go into buying this camera thinking it's a pro camera, it's not... it's limited to what it can do, but it does it very well...

I just got my G1 yesterday. So far I've tested it and found no dead pixels or hot pixels... Everything seems to work well... and I've been having a blast learning how to use it and taking pictures.

The rule of forums seems to be that if it ain't broke, don't post it. People are never going to be as quick to praise as to complain... so I wouldn't let the complaints bother you too bad. All in all, the G1 seems to be a remarkable camera for the price, and I've already fallen in love with mine.

The G1 is a truly remarkable piece of electronics, but be careful to check for HOT PIXELS...
