Butterflies need help!

The glaring white bit in the background is distracting. Is there a way of making it less obvious, other than cloning it out? Could anyone give me any ideas? Thank you,

You'll get better tips from more advanced users, but you can try this.

Create an empty layer above your image. Sample one of the greens near the white spot. Set the blending mode on the empty layer to either darken or color (what works seems to vary). Paint over the white. Reduce opacity.

That's not a bad idea, but you'll get a better result if you change the blend mode to Multiply. That way you won't turn the butterflys' legs greenish. If it still needs to go darker, create a dodge and burn layer (a soft light layer filled with 50% gray) and paint over the light parts with black on your brush and a low opacity of around 15-20%. Come to think of it, you'd be better off doing that before putting the green on, I think.
