Just so theres no confusion, the online buying program is where you physically walk into the store, pay for the camera and best buy will ship to you at no extra charge within a few business days. Even best buy doesnt normally stock the d70 on the shelf, but as another poster mentioned, they have huge stocks in their warehouse.

--If you want a D70 , don't buy online.
You have to call a store, or many and ask, do you have one in
stock. Don't say , "can you get me a D70"
They will all say "yes"
Ask, "Do you have one in stock" If they cannot tell you, hang up.
If they do, then order, Make sure it is a USA, please.

Relax and have a drink, you will get your D70 and spend hours
reading the manual and asking "us " questions.
Take care and God bless.

--I know that Best Buy has plenty in stock. and if your a part of
the rewards program you can go in next weekend and buy one throught
the online buying program, get it shipped in a couple days and use
rewards card. If you buy a printer at the same time, you get
100,000 free bonus points... which translates to about 40$ free
best buy bucks, another 45 or 50 for the camera and accessories
purchase, and probly about 10 or 20 for the printer purchase...
ends up at almost 100 dollars. Just enough to get a free 256 meg
card.
Now it would be cool if they actually carried the SB-800... or
even the 600 for that matter.
Alot of this was mentioned already, but just reiterating. I think
I'm going to be ordering mine from Best Buy next Friday.
One question though. Has anyone had any experience with Best Buy's
maintenance shop and digital cameras? If you got a camera with
backfocus (sorry for bringing it up) Do you actually trust Best
Buy to fix it? Or would you just send it to Nikon under their
warranty?
One other question as long as you have read this far. Who thinks
that an average shooter needs a second lithium battery pack for the
camera? Will a few AA's thrown into the extra pack
