Kit lens, against the sun

Interesting... I would've used a smaller aperture to also keep the horizon in focus. But that's just my personal preference. Thanks for posting.

Its some atmospheric effect, not caused by the lens. Not sure if its a cloud formation, ice crystals, or exactly what it is!

I saw the coolest sunset ever a couple weeks ago, where just as the sun was setting a huge spear of light shot up waaaay up into the sky. It was really really weird, i had never seen it in person but i know i've seen it in a book somewhere. Of course i didn't have my camera on me at the time...

actually, its in the pile of photos that i've not got around to doing any work on yet (aside from shrinking it for pasting in here)..
