Dear Forum,

I own a Sony DSC F-717, and a Sony DCR-VX2000, and i would like to know if there was a Monopod, that would work with these two Digital Cameras/Camcorder.

I've heard that Bogen Manfrotto Monopods, works well, and then i hear that Sunpak, and Silk, have nice one too!

I shoot alot of sporting events, and i would need one for active use.

If able to help, i would greatly appreciate your advice.

Thank you
Sincerely, Vincent

Thanks, Vince

I am thinking about getting this Manfrotto/Bogen monopod:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=getItemDetail&Q=&sku=5495&is=REG&si=feat#goto_itemInfo

It has detachable legs that allow you to stand it up on its own, so you get benefits of both a monopod and a tripod. Of course it won't replace a really good tripod, but it's a lot easier to carry around.

B&H Photo's website also has versions that come with a monopod/tripod head, but I saw an ad for this tripod head that has some kind of squeeze grip that allows you to quickly reposition the camera without fiddling with all sorts of knobs. I don't know if it would be compatible with this monopod, however.

Hope this helps!

Jezlyn,

Thanks for your help, i also think that monopod at bhphotovideo.com is a real nice one!

The tripod head, with the squeeze grip, is called a Bogen 3265 Grip Action Ball Head with a Quick Release Plate.

Hope that will help you!

Thank you

Cool, thanks for letting me know what the model number is. I thought I was going to have to search through my photography magazines to find the ad again. :) I don't know if this ball head is compatible with all Bogen/Manfrotto tripods/monopods. It may also be a bit of overkill for a monopod, but it seems like it would be a cool combination.

Does anyone know if this combo of ball head and self-standing monopod would be feasible?

Thanks again for looking up the info, Vincent. :)
