It's not a matter registration, I've realized that the program isn't robust enough in the communication.
I'm working on reproducing the error here. It's difficult, in my setup it's very willing to connect.

In getting Remote Shutter to work do I need to have the software
registered first? I have the Nikon serial cable and continue to get
error messages of Break Received and Framing Error and that the
device is not connected. I get the feeling there is communication
attempts but something is not right. Help.
