I am looking at this picture http://www.pbase.com/image/27235347 and saw that iso was 100. it is too much noise on 100asa by opinion of mine.

i have been thinking of buying this camera, but this ist too much noise or am I wrong. I have several question if someone would like to help me.

what is the diference beetwean FZ-10 and FZ-10k
is there wide and tele lenses to add to this camera.

thanks milutin

milutin:

In this particular picture I think the back ground grain adds something to the picture. I would also not that it does not effect the beauty of the bird which is the central feature.

Both tele and wide lenses are available from panasonic or a host of other camera companies.

If that is too much noise for you...Don't buy the camera

The 10K is black...The other is silver.

The photo has been processed by Photoshop Album, and I suspect it has been sharpened, which would explain what appears to be excessive noise. At ISO 100, FZ10 images do show some noise in featureless areas, but not nearly as much as this picture has. The noise level here is closer to the FZ10's ISO 400 than to it's ISO 200.

thanks,

i will have to look some more pictures to decide. noise is something i am picky about. everething else is amazing in this camera for the price. as soon as i posted i saw the attach lenses from panasonic, but the price is rocket busted at arround 350$ for each peace.

this lenses from other manufacturors are they as god as panasonic ones. i want to take photography of the nature and the animals, so extra tele is welcome and wide is a must for me to buy. but the quality bothers me if it is OK from attached lenses from second manufacturors.

There are other tele-lenes used by other people. The TCON17 and the TL-55 (I would prefer the latter, because it is sharper) come to mind.

You can get them cheap, and some adapter. Somebody else might know details.

The panasonic lenses might be more quality, but they are also very expensive and bulky.

Cheers,

Tels

thanks to all,

i will have some home work to do so I can ask more specific questions. and to look for other pictures as far noise is consered. i will also look for lenses. the problem is serbia photo market is very poor, due to lack of sdandard for the citizens, so extra lenses are very rear and hard to try it on camera. so seeking good lens is a problem for us, we buy form abroad and we are stuck with it.
how about auto focus is it fast?

Hi,

Look up some of my previous postings. Noise also bothers me. The FZ10 is a REASONABLY noisy camera, not too bad though. However, you can rid yourself of pretty much all of it with NeatImage..
