Flimsy F717

Hello... I'm actually from the Nikon Camp but I recently purchased an F717 for my brother (used) and I need some help on some info...

Well, I noticed that the lens mount on the camera that I received seems to be a bit "flimsy"... The lens rotates freely and still has enough tension to keep its position even when not being supported - but there seems to be a bit of side to side play in the lens... I was just wondering if this is normal... and if not, is there a way to remedy the problem?...

Hello Jason,

It is normal. You will experience about 3 degrees of play either way.

Just do not force it further, or try to wrench it, you could do damage.

The f717 is a strongly built camera and should last you a long time,

This is perfectly normal. They all flex a bit. I doubt there is any way to stiffen it. The flex is normal.
