Well, those who have finished Sunday, anyway. And those who are just starting it....what plans do you have?

We (husband, daughter and I) went on a photo shoot at a local place we'd never been to before. Fern forest, waterfalls, absolutely magical. But a bright, sunny day with harsh light streaming through the ferns and bouncing off the water makes for very difficult conditions for metering.

These pics are the result of our afternoon hike......most with the kit lens (a coupe with the Canon 55-200 4.5-5.6 USM) all taken in manual mode.

I was fairly impressed with the way the 300D handled the conditions. I got a few hot spots, but I expected that when I saw how bright it was there.

Photos are VERY compressed..........all the ferns and trees makes for HUGE file sizes!

Great shots of the waterfalls Gayle.......plus I love the blackberry shots.....very clear. Hope that you had a lovely day.

Not much rest for me today. Work plus taking kids to tennis etc. Camera in being serviced, nothing major just a clean etc. Used a Nikon Coolpix 2100 to take pics of the tennis. Not a bad little camera......fits in my handbag No possums in the tree tonight, just our cat that was chased up a tree by a rogue dog, the older son had to climb up and get the petrified thing down...............now that would have been a photo opportunity................??!!

Wendy

Cleaning my computer area- forgotten what the desk actually looks like and then ploughing through the hundreds of images on my system, sorting, cataloging those not done yet and deleting as many as I can- being ruthless I am too.

I'll surprise you with the ones I like the most :

mf2.jpg : the composition, angle and view, colours and of course proper lighting :)

And for the waterfalls, I prefer mf14.jpg, very nice composition indeed :)

My Sunday just started, nothing special planned apart doing bird shots. Spring is shy here in eastern Canada yet.

Cheers

LOL, Funny that you ask. It is a glorious sunny day outside and the forecast promised it will last all day, with nice temperature here in Canada. It's been cold and dreaery here for the last several months, and this is the kind of weather that make you want to come out taking pics, after suffering winter for so long...

Well, I am seating in a class room right now, preparing to take an exam that would last all day (theory, practice, presentation..). We do it on our classroom pc, connected to the internet, which is why I can still write this....before the rush begin!

Have a nice day

... Thanks for the inspiration to make some great photos!

Thanks Eric! I like the 2 you chose too......but then I like all of them :-)

They reflect the kind of day we had....hot, bright and peaceful. It truly was a beautiful place.

I hope you'll share some of your bird photos!

You would not have thanked me for waiting forever to download huge files. As it is, with relatively high compression, some of them are hitting the 200k mark. I always have to keep in mind that a lot of users are on dial-up.

Thanks for your comment :-)

Fantastic shots. Very green, something I've been missing, but it's all about to change. Summer's officially here.

I spent 5 hours walking round following my mountain biker friends. I got some good shots;

Nice shots?... Did you use USM in PS during post processing.?

I spent my Sunday worshipping the the Creator of the falls you enjoyed today.

They were all shot in large JPEG, Parameter 2, so all had my usual post processing treatment of levels adjustment and unsharp mask.

Ok - I'll play on this one. I didn't see it until I started another thread.

I spent part of the afternoon stalking squirrels.

Just got home. It was a beautiful day down by the Thousands Islands near Gananocque(?). Temps were around 14*C. There were lots of big birds so I had a lot of practice shooting them. And I saw my first ever bald eagle. What a lovely majestic looking bird -- especially when you get to see it in person. Will upload images later and taking a look at your Sunday pics.

Got in some free golf as well. After the long winter we had up here it sure was nice to have a day like this finally :-)

Sadly, I didn't have quite that much fun. Yesterday I heard a strange humming sound coming from my crawlspace and, upon inspection, discovered a few inches of water covering the entire crawlspace. So, I spent all saturday evening trying out a shiny new Sump Pump that the local hardware store had on hand. After setting up fans, etc to help evaporate things for a few hours, most of the water had evaporated, but I still managed to have more fun trying to take of things today. For your viewing pleasure, I snapped a few shots with the kit lens before I started the draining process.

Found out I'm allergic to Nioxin Shampoo the hard way. Covered from heat to toe with the hives (allergic Urticaria). On antihistamines that pretty well knock me out. It rained all weekend here anyway. Maybe it's God's way of telling me to slow down and get some more rest. There is always next weekend, good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise too much.

Photography has suprisingly little to do with cameras; but indeed almost everything to do with the person behind the camera.
