I am living in Mexico City at the moment and want to start producing stock.

I had an interview with Latin Stock ( http://www.latinstock.com/ ) and they seam like a small firm representing other big strock agencies, their rate is 50/50, but they are very photographer friendly and specialice in Latin America.

I am also considering sending my images to Alamy ( http://www.alamy.com/ ) because they have good rates, seam to be realy big agencie and explain everything with detail in their site.

I am alien to the stock world, so, can you please advice on what should my criteria be to sign with one -or more- stock houses?

thanks

I see two criteria for signing up with a stock agency. First are they big enough to have enough photo buyers seeing your shots. And second do they know how to market your images, with your area I could imagine alot of travel and book publisher would want images that you could capture. On the first count according to the photographers on stock photo net ( http://www.stockphoto.net ) alamy seems to make them a good amount of money. But latin stock may have more exeprience selling images from your part of the world so they make you more money.

Thanks,

Philip, I think that the best way would be to send some images to Alamy and some to Latin Stock.

Talk to the people on stockphoto.net (click on the talk link and there will be instructions on how to sign up to chat its free and instant). They can tell you what kind of images they are selling on Alamy. Using the both of them is definetly a good way to go.
