Probably a dumb question but....

OK, I'm shooting a team with my S1. How do you identify the image number to enter on the kid's envelope? So far I can only get it to display the frame number when in the preview mode on the LCD. I don't use the LCD much when shooting, so does anyone know if there is a way to see the number without previewing?

The image-counter is only substracting from a total you can get to your CF-card. It should be a good option that Fuji should make a firmware update, so you could set the counter by "adding" the numbers, starting from one.
So you can not see without preview.

Without using the preview you can't get a note of the file number.

May I suggest too, that you select the option that keeps the camera numbering when you change cards, so that you dont end up with a hard drive full of DSCF0001 files!!

An alternative method of numbering is to use one of the options on the EXIF viewer program. You can automatically renumber your files to the date and time (to the second!!). This may give you a good alternative method of logging your file to the subject. As long as your watch and the camera are set to the same time, simply note the time on your log next to each child. Then the two will match!

Haven't tried that - but it should work perfectly!!

Thanks David, that's a great idea. I'll look into that right away.

As far as numbering goes, I do renumber from 001, but only when doing a team. It makes it easier to identify them for reorders. And, I keep each job in a seperate folder just long enough to print the job, and then they go to a CD.
