I started out with a 550MB TIFF file which was 5400x7200 pixels. I
couldn't even find a local facility that could handle a file that
large. Most processors seem to have a limit of around 55MB. Then
someone recommended JumboGiant. They do up to like 40x60 inches.
However, they only want a 150DPI JPG. So instead of dealing with a
550MB TIFF, I only had to deal with a 5MB JPG.
I uploaded the file to them on Sunday via their website and on
Thursday the poster arrived. I never knew 150DPI could look so
good. Everyone I showed the collage to was blown away and I ended
up ordering several more copies. The price was around $22 without
shipping.
Just recently I did a collage for a local high school banquet and
they had it printed at Kenkos. It was 24xsomething and Kinko's
wanted 200 DPI. It came out fantastic as well.

Hi - can anyone recommend a quality online service that will
actually work with you for custom services? I make large collages
and have used Ofoto once, but could not send a higher res than
2400x3000 or get color calibration info/profiles from them. The
results were OK, but far less than what I would like. Turned out
dark and soft. Not a good combo anytime...
In the meantime, my s9000 is working well upto 13x19 with Qimage
Thanks for your time
