Refurbished CF Cards

I found an ad at new egg for refurbished Transcend 512 CF cards at $87. They have only a 15 day DOA warranty.

I do not know if CF cards are likely to break once they are recieved. The refurbs are much cheaper. Do you think this is a good idea, or should I spend the extra and get one with a warranty.

I can't imagine how one might refurbish a solid state component. Perhaps they're returned items? In any event for a bit more money you can get a Viking 512 ($100 on Amazon) with a legit warranty.

Viking cf card 512 for $74.99 on amazon. com after $25 rebate. New and it is $99 before rebate. Lexar 512 cf 12x card $99.99 amazon.com. Simple tech $93.99 512 cf again amazon.com. Free shipping. Life time garrenty on Lexar and Simple tech. Not sure on viking more than likly atleast a year. All brand new. Any questions?
