Have Digital Rebel 300 ..yellow cable from camera is video out, insert
yellow plug into Video in on AC TV, pictures are vewed on TV screen
amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
Now here is the Question: For field use one buys a battery powered DVD
player opens up like a book has 7" larger or smaller viewing screen.

Can we see images from the Canon camera, when the yellow plug is
inserted into > > VIDEO IN
switch for video in or video out, or no switch.

What the Digital camera world needs is a simple low cost way to view
images in the field on a 5"x7" porta tab, thin, light weight,LCD battery
powered unit ....maybe solar cell powered. BOB

It sounds to me as though the yellow cable is S-Video not normal video... does it have a left and right audio cable too? If the portable player has S-Video in then it should work (but you won't get any sound ;-> ). If you're sure that what you're using already is "normal" video and the DVD player has the same then I can't see why that wouldn't work either... but then I could be wrong.

Totally agree with you re a small device to view pics - I use my PDA when I can't take my laptop on the road but you're still limited to 320x240 and Very long times to load an image straight from the camera (and you can't shoot in raw). I think in a year or two tablet computing will have caught on and the devices will be smaller (roll-out screen anyone?) so that would be perfect... solar powered sounds even better - what a set-up for travel photography!!
