Sony F828 Sample Found-WOW

Hey Peter,

those pictures are very old. and they are shrinked. the real size has a lot of noise in them.

Collector: Ah ha! Not even Xena is a match for the double-
edged lightsaber from "Star Wars Episode 1: The
Phantom Menace!"
[takes it out of the package and activates it]

Lawless: [gasps] You removed it from its original packaging!

Collector: No! It's no longer a collectible!
[staggers backward until he crashes through a
railing and plunges into the Lucite tank]

Lawless: [walks up to the railing and frees herself from the
pouch] What a nerd.
-- "Treehouse of Horror X"

% The Collector climbs out of the tank, covered in Lucite. He knows

% the end is near, and strikes a dramatic pose.

Lucite hardening ... must end life in classic Lorne Greene pose from
"Battlestar Galactica." Best ... death ... ever!

Speaking of Battlestar Galactica, which I watched religiously as a kid, I wonder if the new series will suck.

I hear they are going to have a CGI Don Knotts play Commander Adama.

These are not fakes. The originator was Sony. The original posted size was 100% - 3262x2448. I still have the copies on my hard disk. Do a search and you will find a full discussion on these pics. Noise, excessive noise reduction causing picture degradation, color bleeding, poor overall color quality (yes the blue is nice but everything else...) and corner softness were all mentioned. Many wondered why Sony would post such poor samples.

Some evidence of pixelation suggests upsampling, also a lot of
noise which shouldn't be there in sunny conditions.

thanks

How did they end up being 2000x2448 then? And they were actually off the Sony site? Crickey
