Powershot A40 + USB driver for W95?

Hi! Does anyone know is it possible to find USB driver for Windows 95? I have Powershot A40 and want to transfer pictures via USB to my PC.

Canon supports Windows 98 and driver is included in the original Canon CDROM. Is the only solution install Windows 98??

Hello John,

Although USB drivers are available for Windows 95 version B and later, they don't work.

Instead of upgrading to Win 98, you can also choose to buy a CF reader for parallel ports (if you can find one).

Are you sure you are still running Windows 95?

No. The real solution is to, on a PC (not Mac) forget about Windows 98, 98SE and Me, and instead install Windows 2000 Professional (and then install its Service Pack 4) or Windows XP Professional (then install its Service Pack 1a).

Two options:

1) Buy a CF parallel card reader

or

2) Kill your Win95 box and replace it with WinXPH. Most cameras don't support Win95 without major tweaking and custom coding on the drivers, and add to the fact that Win95 does not support USB.
