Its only about 1 inch in size, and a harmless garden spider.

They just don't look to good when you are close up, I have heard that one before too.

Yep, I did use the Sigma at 300mm F32 1/125, Plus the Sigma 1:1 add on lens. Yes macro, a metz flash on camera and studio flash about 2 feet away.
