I purchased my new EOS 10D a few days ago. Used it a little in the house and seemed fine. I purchased it in time for a week long vacation to Disney World. Got to our resort took a few pictures and again it worked fine. Get to the first park the next day took two pictures in front of EPCOT and then all of a sudden the AF on the camera just stopped working. I could not get a focus lock on anything inside or outside. It looked like the lense was focusing but none of the red squares would light up and I always kept getting the focus busy green light in the view finder. I tried changing lenses. Did not help. So finally I just put it away. through out the day as we waited in lines I would try to use the camera. Every time it would not work. Finally about 6 hours later it started working all of a sudden on its own. The next day get to the park and again the thing would not work again after a few pictures.
My entire vaction the camera did not work most of the time. So I reverted back to my old Sony. It appears that once outside the camear stops working in definately for about 6 hours. I seen another person using one of the EOS 10D's while at the park and asked them if they had this kind of problem and they said no.
The other thing I am not sure about is the Big Circle selector switch on back of the camera appears to work with the switch for it in the on or off position.
AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG, or do you guys with more experience than me with the EOS-10D feel I should return the camera back to dell for another one.
Just for reference the lenses I am using are the Canon 28-135mm USM IS 3.5/5.6f and the Canon 50mm 1.8f
